2009
To All Campers and
Parents,
I just wanted to thank everyone for another
terrific winter clinics! We had two clinics- December 21-22 and
January 3-4- with over 170 players coming from all over Michigan.
I and the entire staff could not have asked for a better group
of players to work with. The energy, attention, respect (given
to the staff and fellow campers), and commitment to the game was
amazing. It's great to see how bright the future of soccer looks-
keep up the good work!!
I also wanted to stress the importance of being
comfortable with the ball. Whether your goal is to make a travel
team, earn a college scholarship, or play professionally, your
ability to handle soccer ball is critical. The more time you spend
with your little round friend the better your technical ability
will be. We gave a lot of activities to do to help improve your
technical ability but anything you do with the ball will help.
Whether it’s the activities we gave you, playing soccer tennis
with your friends, or making up games against the fence- anytime
you touch the ball you are working on your technical ability.
So spend as much time with the ball as possible. And whenever
you put your shoes on to play the game we all love, the most important
thing to remember is to have FUN!
We are hoping to have a few more clinics at the
end of spring/early summer. They should be posted in the near
future. We hope to see everyone again- good luck in soccer! -Mais
